Bono is an activist for social justice causes, both through U2 and as an individual. He is particularly active in campaigning to fight extreme poverty and HIV/AIDS in Africa, for which he co-founded DATA, EDUN, the ONE Campaign, and Product Red In pursuit of these causes, he has participated in benefit concerts and lobbied politicians and heads of state for relief.
John was the longest-serving of the original disc jockeys on BBC Radio 1, broadcasting regularly from 1967 until his death in 2004. John's support help break The Ramones, The Smiths, The Buzzcocks, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, New Order, PJ Harvey, Jesus and Mary Chain, and The White Stripes in the U.K.
Matt Pinfield has had a quietly massive influence on alternative and modern rock culture, especially in the U.S., by acting as a bridge between underground music, mainstream media, and music history. Matt is best known as a music journalist, DJ, programer, and TV host. Former MTV VJ (most famously 120 Minutes) and for being a walking encyclopaedia of punk, alternative, and classic rock.
